ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old Isaacs man after he fled from a roadside police breath testing station early this morning (22 January).
Around 3.10am police were conducting breath tests on Drakeford Drive in Isabella Plains. The driver of the silver Holden Monaro conducted a U-turn in front of police and drove away.
Police followed the driver, activating their warning lights and sirens. The driver failed to stop, instigating a pursuit.
The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes. The driver crossed a median strip and mounted a gutter, causing the deflation of a tyre.
The man, who was found to be a disqualified driver, was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House. He will front the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, where he will face several charges.
Any witnesses to the pursuit are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
