It’s National Science Week. Today, amongst other events, is Open Day at the Shine Dome, with an emphasis on the science of food:

The Wedded Bliss + Quarry Mountain Dead Rats at the Phoenix on Saturday night. 9pm kick off. Country / Bluegrass goodtimes 🙂
Fash ‘n’ Treasure is on again on SATURDAY the 13th of August. Canberra’s first and only dedicated fashion market, with stalls of new, vintage, second-hand and designer fashion. They also now have a section for comics, records and books.
Doors open at 10am. Free entry and free parking. Lunch and coffee available all day. Old Bus Depot Building in Kingston.
Local indie rockers Waterford support Brisbane folksters Harmony at the Front on Saturday night from 8pm, then back it up with a set at the Bootlegs (at the Phoenix) on Monday alongside Crash the Curb and Killing Birds. So, you know. That’s something innit?

Dammit! Half an hour after posting the DeeJay Gosper gig, she had to cancel due to a lurgy. There will no doubt be something almost (though not quite) as awesome in her stead at the Old Canberra Inn at that timeslot on Friday night.
