Okay, you remember how previously in the “theatre around town” bit, it was all plays?Well, it’s now time for the musicals.
“Kiss Me Kate” kicks off this week at the ANU Arts Centre, presented by Phoenix Players – Cole Porter meets Shakespeare meets backstage comedy meets gangsters. Performances Friday and Saturday nights, plus matinee on Saturday, and contniues until Sept 23rd. Book at Canberra ticketing, or book dinner and show at Vivaldi’s restraunt.
“Grease” continues at the Erindale theatre, with the cars, hair and songs that sorta look and sound like the fifties – presented by Canberra Philharmonic – performances tonight, Friday and Saturday, plus matinee Saturday. Booking through Philo ticketing. Featuers Riotact’s own Jamius Maximus himself – surely one of the greatest hand-jivers of all time…

Working with wood show is on at EPIC. It is meant to be good, with carvings, powertools etc, but it costs 15.00 I think.
The UC final year graphic design students are having a fundraiser party at Knightsbridge Penthouse on Sunday.
Starts at 3pm and ends much later (so I’m told) and will feature the DJ talents of UG Beats/F.I.E.D Crew Kingpin DJ Jemist form 8pm. Before then there’ll be door prizes and an auction of students’ work.
