Downhill Skiing Record on No Snow

We were discussing this on the way up to the snow today (and there was still a decent amount at Perisher but not on the x-country ski trails) and came to the conclusion he would get very extremely bored cos he’s basically skiing in circles on Friday Flat. He has to spend more time on the snow than on the lifts and he’s allowed to sleep for a maximum of two hours per day (well that’s what I was told).

He’s actually trying to compete with some Austrian dude who’s done it for longer – Nick was initially going to do it for 7 days, but the Austrian (whose record is not yet officially recognised) did his for 8.3 days. Nick is still going, and is likely to stop on Sunday evening. He’s broken the official record, but wants to break the unofficial record as well, just in case. He’s on Friday Flat, so plenty of the man-made crap there.

shame that the high standards of abc journalism couldn’t pick up that the article is written in two tenses. Nick has already broken the record and a team of medics et al will be on hand to help with the attempt
