Shakespeare by the Lakes III: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s most loved comedies, is presented by Lakespeare & Co. (Taimus Werner-Gibbings, Lexi Sekuless, Duncan Driver and Paul Leverenz), an independent theatre company on a mission to make high-quality theatre more accessible.
Our summer shows are FREE for everyone and fun for all. They bring the community together and provide an enjoyable, family-friendly event for all ages.
Shakespeare by the Lakes III: A Midsummer Night’s Dream will come to the ANU campus on February 16 thanks to Kambri at ANU.
This venue accommodates approximately 350 on the steps and has standing & chair room for at least another 200. Ticket numbers are limited and booking is essential. Those who bring a ticket to the event will have priority access to the seating area up until 30 mins before showtime on a first-in first-served basis. Stewards will fill the seated amphitheatre area with printed ticket holders first and any remaining seated places will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis.
Bring a picnic or pick up some sumptuous food on campus. It will be best to bring a blanket or cushion to sit on the amphitheatre steps so as many people as possible can fit in. No chairs in the amphitheatre, please.
You can make a difference by putting up a poster in your work kitchen. The only thing better than enjoying FREE Shakespeare is enjoying it with a group of friends. (Downloads: Hi-Resolution | Medium-Resolution )
Donations
While we are STILL are on the lookout for a major sponsor (is that you?), we are always reliant on the generosity of those who can afford to donate. The number of shows we can lock-in will depend on final corporate sponsorship, public donations and community interest via show registrations. We are below-target for corporate sponsorship this year which is unfortunate, so your donations are more important than ever. Please register for the event as this helps us communicate with you and show demand to sponsors. When you do there is an option to donate at the same time.
For convenience, we include the Eventbrite donation option with every performance. All the money raised is used to pay for the entire season of Shakespeare by the Lakes III.
Show information
- Unless there is torrential rain, the show goes on. We invite our audience to enter into the joy and fun of what nature might bring and be open to a variety of experiences.
- A few chairs will be allowed in designated areas. So everyone can see, chairs will necessarily be set back from the main playing area.
- So everyone can see, umbrellas are not to be used during the performance. Patrons should use hooded rain jackets or ponchos.
- Lakespeare & Co. reserves the right to add or remove performances, change venues and/or alter the start times of events. Of course, we only do this for good reasons and give you as much warning as possible 🙂
