Bailey Donovan: Bean Soup

Bailey Donovan, Golden Hour, 2023. Photo: Connor Patterson.
Bean Soup is a playful and immersive exhibition by Canberra based glass artist Bailey Donovan. Centred on Bailey’s recurring glass bean forms, the exhibition brings together blown sculptures, wall mounted works and rich colour compositions that explore the relationships between domestic craft, queer identity and the expressive nature of glass. The result is a joyful and gently surreal installation that invites visitors to experience pattern, colour and form in surprising and intimate ways.
The Long Look

G.W. Bot, Conversation Glyphs (detail), 2025.
Having first crossed paths in the late 1990s at the Canberra School of Art Printmaking Workshop—as teachers, colleagues and students—highly regarded printmakers Cecile Galizzo, G.W. Bot, Lizzie Hall, Craig Cameron and John Pratt are celebrated for their innovative, boundary-pushing practices. They share a deep foundation in the relationship between material and mark-making. While printmaking remains their anchor, each artist extends its traditions by taking a single strand or idea and pushing it beyond expected limits. In this exhibition, those strands intertwine: etching plates and woodblocks become artworks, metal becomes drawing, and repetition transforms into a powerful methodology.
Traces

Sarah Murray, Tree Stump (detail), 2020.
Traces brings together artists Alexander Sarsfield, Bridget Baskerville, Clementine McIntosh, Gemma Brown and Sarah Murray, who are all connected to Canberra, on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. Working across ceramics, textiles, installation, printmaking, weaving and painting, these artists explore themes of materiality and connection to place.
