Under Canberra’s spring sky, Lake Burley Griffin will glow with lanterns, music, and stories from across Asia. From Friday 3 October to Sunday 5 October, Henry Rolland Park transforms into a space of reunion, gratitude, and the beauty of the full moon.
What to expect?
• River lantern blessing: Add your wish to a lantern and set it afloat at dusk – a moving, photogenic tradition that symbolises care for family, community, and harmony.
• Moonlight concert: A cross-cultural music showcase led by soprano Ya Fen, blending Chinese folk, live band, K-pop, and classical dance under the glow of lanterns and moonlight.
• Immersive Hanfu experience: Step into Mid-Autumn legend with costumed guides, try on Hanfu, and capture your own festival moment.
• Hanfu mystery quest: Meet roaming “characters from the past,” solve clues, collect stamps, and unlock the Mystery of the Moonlit Night for a keepsake prize.
• Cultural market and family fun: Taste Asian street food, explore the cultural market, enjoy stage performances, and join in classic Mid-Autumn activities like ring toss, dart toss, and lantern riddles.
Bring your friends, your kids, and your curiosity. Come for the moon, stay for the music, and leave with a lantern-lit memory.
