About the event:
Yass Picnic Race Club’s annual race meeting is being held again on the October long weekend on Saturday, 25th February 2023. We appreciate your sponsorship each year, as without you we would not be able to race, so thank you. Your support is what makes Yass Picnic Races such a success.
The Yass Picnic Race Club was founded in 1901. It is one of the oldest picnic race clubs in NSW and maintains the vision of traditional picnic racing.
On the 20th August 1913 the NSW Government dedicated crown land for the specific use as a public racecourse for the township of Yass. To this day the races have been held at this location.
The Club’s Committee are all volunteers. The committee works tirelessly throughout the year to maintain the track and facilities on behalf of the community. The race day event is conducted by the Club’s Committee and NSW Racing stewards.
After a few years hiatus due to COVID and weather, the committee is getting ready for a full day of racing at the Marchmont racecourse. The Yass Picnic Races are a six (6) race meet with the horses competing trained both locally
and across regional NSW. The Yass Picnic races bush atmosphere will be sure to keep all racing enthusiasts entertained throughout the day and into the evening.
