Acute Misfortune (Thomas M. Wright, 2018)

MA15+ | 91 Mins | 2018 | DCP | AUS | D: Thomas M. Wright

Acute Misfortune details the final years of controversial, Archibald Prize-winning artist Adam Cullen, as portrayed by Australian journalist and author Erik Jensen, the young man Cullen recruited as his biographer. The intense and perilous relationship between the two pushes the boundaries between subject and author, delineations further blurred in Wright’s screen adaption (co-written with Jensen).

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Erik Jensen, Schwartz Media Editor-in-Chief and author of the 2014 biography Acute Misfortune: The Life and Death of Adam Cullen.
