PG | 99 Mins | $8 Collection Selection | 1999 | DCP | AUS | D: John Duigan
Awkward rebellious teen Danny (Noah Taylor) finds himself in a love triangle with new-girl Thandiwe and queen-bee Nicola (Nicole Kidman).
Set in the 1960s, this coming-of-age drama is a sequel to writer-director John Duigan’s The Year My Voice Broke, set against the backdrop of the harsh boarding school system and ingrained racism of mid-20th century Australia.
“Only rare movies like ‘Flirting ‘ remind us that the movies are capable of providing us with the touch of other lives, that when all the conditions are right we can grow a little and learn a little, just like the people on the screen.” – Roger Ebert
This title has been restored through NFSA Restores, an exciting program that digitises, restores and preserves Australian films so they can be seen in today’s digital cinemas.
