Professional services firm EY has committed taking space at Capital Property Group’s new office development being built on Vernon Circle.

Vernon will complete the Snow family’s 65,000 square metre award-winning Constitution Place development and is due to be finished in October 2026.

EY will relocate from the A-grade 121 Marcus Clarke Avenue address in and lease two floors (4600sqm).

The lease will commence after the completion of the building with occupation planned for mid-2027.

The move to Vernon aligns with the firm’s future growth and sustainability ambitions.

EY Canberra Managing Partner Louise MacDonald said the firm was looking forward to relocating to Vernon Constitution Avenue in 2027.

“The new space will support how we work – flexibly, collaboratively and with purpose,” she said. “It’s a move that reflects our commitment to sustainability and to creating a modern environment for our people and clients.”

Head of Property at Capital Property Group Richard Snow said the company was excited EY shared the vision for this iconic development, which was proving to be a highly desirable corporate address.

“We look forward to working closely with EY to create a new generation of workspace for its staff and clients,” he said.

Being built by Canberra building firm Construction Control, Vernon is a 15,000 sqm, seven-level office building set to redefine Canberra’s commercial landscape.

Designed by award-winning architectural firm Bates Smart, the development will integrate seamlessly into the established Constitution Place precinct, already home to major corporate and government tenants, including King & Wood Mallesons, MinterEllison, NAB, and the ACT Government.

CPG has made a commitment to sustainability and innovation.

The fully electric building will be carbon-neutral in operation, featuring a hybrid timber and concrete structure with 15 per cent of the
building constructed from sustainable timber.

A 150kW roof-mounted solar array and 100kW battery will further reduce its carbon footprint, while the development targets a 5.5-Star NABERS Energy rating and a 5-Star Green Star rating.

Situated at the prominent corner of Vernon Circle and Constitution Avenue, Vernon will offer sweeping views of Lake Burley Griffin and the Parliamentary precinct.

EY will join Tier 1 law firm Clayton Utz and flexible workspace operator Hub Australia at Vernon.

The transaction was negotiated by JLL Canberra on behalf of Capital Property Group and CBRE representing EY.
