ACT Policing is investigating a pursuit that occurred on Saturday afternoon (September 10) involving a vehicle travelling in Florey.
Around 1.40pm, police observed a maroon Peugeot hatchback on John Cleland Crescent in Florey. Police believe the driver of the vehicle is the subject of a warrant in relation to burglary and theft charges.
Police followed the vehicle into the Florey shops at which stage the vehicle sped away and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued through Florey and Scullin until police lost sight of the vehicle at the intersection of Ross Smith Crescent and Hargrave Street, Scullin and the pursuit was terminated.
The maximum speed reached during the pursuit was 80km/h in a 60km/h zone. The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the Maroon Peugeot hatchback or witnessed the pursuit to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
