Gas rupture at UC

ACT Fire & Rescue are on scene at Monana Street, Bruce, at the University of Canberra following a gas line rupture.

Three fire pumpers are on scene and have isolated the gas leak from a 50mm gas line wearing Breathing Apparatus.

Adjacent building has been evacuated as a precaution.

Update to follow.

3:54 PM

Gas line was ruptured by workmen at the building site.

Approx 40 people were evacuated as a precaution and no injuries reported.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 3.23pm.

ACT Fire & Rescue remaining on scene whilst maintenance workers repair the gas line.

4:13 PM

Gas line has been repaired and ACT Fire & Rescue are departing the scene.
