Ginninderry has marked another milestone in its ongoing land release program, with positive results across both the Strathnairn Village auction and the Macnamara land ballot.
Every site offered in Ginninderry’s most recent land releases has now been sold, with strong competition recorded at the Strathnairn auction and high demand for limited blocks in Macnamara.
The Strathnairn Village auction, held on 4 December, in collaboration with Civium Property Group, featured a diverse range of development opportunities, including eight multi-unit sites ranging from two to 24 dwellings and two terrace packages, all within walking distance of Ginninderry’s first retail centre, Strathnairn Village.
The two terrace packs have 10 to 13 blocks, each about 200 sqm. While homes on these blocks would share walls, they would have separate titles, allowing developers to deliver homes at the price points the market craves.
As these sites are positioned around Ginninderry’s future retail centre (subject to approval), they are expected to attract strong interest from end buyers seeking a convenient lifestyle with access to parks, schools, shops and transport.
As part of the sustainable, master-planned community, homes built on these blocks will be close to other community facilities and open spaces. Just 500 metres away is Strathnairn’s main park, complete with a kids’ playground, multi-sport court, cricket nets and barbecue facilities and next to that, Strathnairn School is set to open in 2026.
The successful sale of all sites and packages demonstrate confidence from builders and developers and reinforces ongoing demand for well-located development opportunities within Ginninderry.

The Macnamara land ballot, held on 9 December, offered 17 mid-sized blocks to eligible purchasers. The limited release was made available to people who had previously expressed interest in Ginninderry and attracted 279 registrations, with all 17 blocks selling through the ballot process.
The recent results underscore Ginninderry’s reputation as one of Canberra’s most sought-after master-planned communities.
Ginninderry head of sales, marketing and communications Marcus Mills-Smith said the results demonstrated strong confidence in the project’s long-term vision.
“We are incredibly pleased with the outcomes and look forward to welcoming more residents to Ginninderry,” he said.
“The strength of the demand, from developers at Strathnairn Village to families and future residents in Macnamara, shows the market’s confidence in Ginninderry’s commitment to high-quality design, sustainability and community-building.”
Ginninderry’s masterplan continues to deliver diverse housing types, high-quality public spaces, active travel connections and access to the unique Ginninderry Conservation Corridor.
Further land releases are expected to be announced in early 2026.
