Here’s a set of images I shot at the Gunning Fireworks Festival on Saturday.

I kept the Skywhale shots to a minimum, as i’ve finally succumb to the blessed/dreaded Skywhale Fatigue Syndrome.

Mossrocket here – Yep, Australian Fireworks ran the event and they are based in Gunning. The fireworks happened in two stages – first off there was about 90 individual fireworks fired off (I took photos of these) – each introduced and described over a loudspeaker before launch for the assembled official ‘delegates’.

They had a roped off area that was filled with tables and people with clipboards and pens, rating each individual firework, and deciding which ones they might like to use for their own fireworks displays.

Then afterwards there was the showcase set to music (which I filmed).

An interesting event/expo…

According to those in the know, the people who make the fireworks for NYE Sydney have their factory near Gunning and the fireworks festival is a pre NYE test of their latest ‘designs’. Must go next year.
