ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a theft of registered firearms from a residence in Hackett yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 7 September).
Around 3.55pm police were called to the house in Steele Street after the resident returned home to find the side door to the garage forced open.
Inside the garage police found a secure gun locker broken into and two firearms taken.
The firearms stolen include a BRNO model .22 calibre rifle with scope and a Simpson SUHL side by side barrel shotgun.
Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity around Steele Street in Hackett to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
