ACT Policing is seeking witnesses who have not yet spoken to police in relation to an armed robbery at the IGA Supermarket in Hackett last night (Thursday, March 8).
About 6 pm two men entered the store, which had a number of staff and customers, demanding money from the cash registers. One of the men was armed with a long arm firearm and threatened the staff members to open the tills. The staff members complied with the demands and the men fled with a sum of cash.
The first man is described as Caucasian in appearance, medium build, between 175 cm to 185 cm tall (5’9” – 6’), aged in his 20s with an Australian accent. He was wearing a ski mask or similar, a dark-coloured jumper and light blue or grey jeans.
The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build and approximately 183 cm tall (6’). He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper, grey Adidas sweat pants with stripes down the side, white/grey sneakers and had his face covered with an item of clothing.
