CityNews has this piece from Simon Corbell about the ACTâ€™s second moderate-income restricted land ballot for Harrison and Dunlop on 30 Apr 05. The income threshold starts at a $100,000 ceiling, rising by $3,330 for each child. Information is available from the Land Development Agency on 1800 777 952 or at www.lda.act.gov.au for those wanting to jump in on the deal.

All available land should be put onto the free market so it achieves it’s fair market value. Why should the land be restricted to people earning under 100K. I bet you get lots of developers and tradesman types who don’t have to declare their whopping cash incomes, profiteering at the expense of PAYE taxpayers.

Also am I mistaken or is the ACT a communist state ? Why should the government be deciding who gets to buy land? It should be available on the free market fro everyone to bid on.

Blooody socialist state ! Tell me what other state or territory has a communist style land allotment system ? Typical of the ACT though. It’s full of labour socialist left wing greenies !

One hopes that something along these lines is offered for the rebuilding of cotter, pierces creek etc…. and if forty odd years time they throw in the marshmellows to roast.

$100,000 is the combined family income. Is $50,000 moderate? Or, do you rule out dual income families?

Since when was $100K a moderate income.
I must be well below the poverty line
