As promised there was a flyover this afternoon of the Air Force’s retiring C-130H warhorse transport.
As expected the RAAF was ten minutes late. But it was a good bit of fun.
Here’s a slideshow.

Sorry Duff, I was pisstaking. 312 kt is about 350mph so it’s faster than a HS748 !! My first flight in a Herc was Richmond-Fairbairn-Laverton-Edinburgh on the way to rookies.
About 10 times faster than my ride back then 🙂

Slow, noisy, and shake like a Parkinson’s Syndrome smack addict going cold turkey.
Loved every opportunity to sit in a jump seat 🙂
Slow? I was in the cockpit on a beat up of RAAF Tindal at 900ft and 312 knots during K95.
Maybe it just seemed slow. First flight was Fairbairn-Richmond-Sale-Laverton.

Flew around in them as a kid, then did my work experience at Air movements Tindal in 94…awesome.
I never flew after they introduced the palletised seating, but I loved the mesh seating.

Going for #1’s can be tricky but #2’s in turbulence…
Did you end up with a blue arse?
