The heading says it all really. I’m looking for a good an reasonably priced private investigator in Canberra.
Anyone on RA have any ideas?
Thanks.

To do PI work in the ACT, I’m not certain you need a qualification, and I think getting an ACT Licence is only a matter of filling in a form.
Every other state has requirements of being verifiably at least Cert III in Investigative Services, or having the operator be a Private Inquiry Master Licence holder and then all employees being Cert III’s, and everyone needs a police check.

I love that show- once Fi dropped that horrible “ioresh” accent it really got good.

The mind boggles! But you know I like you Dexi, I just couldn’t resist the cross thread link!
Magnum and the A-team are pussies. I would suggest a do it your self job. Get a couple of Andy McNab novels and go to the hardware store. When you have found the cheater, take them down. That or google.

Burn Notice…*GAG* I didn’t realise anyone actually watched that show!
Bring back David Caruso I say. “And if you don’t, that could become a problem”
(TM exits frame while putting on sunglasses)
or your could just watch online…

AFAIK season 2 has not yet been released on DVD… and I only download the TV shows as it saves me the work of ripping the DVD for my own backups 😉

“Look, let’s forget it. Let’s forget the whole thing.”
Love that movie 🙂
Haha
“Sure she is. That’s why she got an unlisted number and you haven’t heard squat from her
in a dozen years. Oh you’re good…Cameron. You’re a real piece of work.
“Do you really expect me to believe this is a straight stalker case”?
Depending on the job, I might do it, if I can post the results here in photo form 🙂

Slightly o/t but yes, agree completely. Must admit it was good to see a few Tom Sellecks out and about during Movember, though still too many porno mos for my liking.
Wouldn’t the Phoenix be the kind of place a PI would hang out at? Sitting at a corner table, cheap whisky in hand, a rumpled and weary face to the world?
Ah Face, BA Baracus, Hannibal and Murdoch – not only did they investigate – they solved the problem as well!
I recok there’s a gap in the market they could fill…..
As imhotep implies, if you want them for a job in Canberra, you may need to find them in Canberra. They may not be too keen on gettin’ on no plane.
It’s taken 20 posts to get a Magnum reference in. 😮
Shame on you all!

I used to know a Canberra-based PI who was an ex-photographer. He said pretty much the same thing as the rest of them (it’s all insurance related or jealous/worried spouses).
Why don’t you ask Dexi? Apparently she has great camera skills so when she’s finished your PI work you can sell any pics you need taken to the NGA, or National Portraite galery:)
Apparently, in 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Canberra underground. Today still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.
If you have a problem. If no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire, The A Team.
there’s been a considerable number of PIs in Canberra for some years. We had one company That used to use us to find support staff, and the prinicple offered me a job at one point as a PI! I was somewhat stunned by that. He said most of their work was insurance investigations (for injury-type claims) and spouses checking up on each other.
Are you sure what you need is a PI and not a process server?
Just give a little hint like if it’s for business-related Debt Recovery or not : – D
Might be a hard ask to track down a gnome thief several years after the fact anyway.
Did someone knock off your garden gnome too? Because it is probably just an after formal party thing. 🙂
I assure you that I do my own stalking and require a PI for matters much more mundane than that.
