ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an act of indecency in McKellar last night (Tuesday, January 8).
Around 8.50pm, a woman was cycling along the bike path adjacent to William Slim Drive when her bike was hit from behind by a male cyclist. She fell to the ground and was dragged into nearby grassland by a man.
A male cyclist riding along the path heard the struggle and stopped to provide assistance to the woman. She was taken to Calvary Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.
The man was last seen riding towards Belconnen on a dark-coloured BMX style bike. He is described as being between 183-190cm (6’ – 6’3”) tall with a solid build.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who saw a man matching the description above riding around the Lake Ginninderra area on a dark-coloured BMX style bike last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
