Joy Burch is letting you know that she’s been made the patron of the newly formed “Federation of Indian Associations of ACT”.

“This Federation has brought together the strengths of 20 different Indian associations from the ACT and region into a single voice that can more effectively champion the causes its members,” Ms Burch said.

One of the Federation’s prime roles will be to channel communication between the Indian community and governments.

It will also promote social and cultural interaction between the Indian community and non-Indian Canberrans through initiatives such as sport and recreation activities, open days and celebrations of days significant to both countries.
