Yes Canberra, when Radio National wants to know what’s what in the future of news they turn to The Guardian’s Alan Rusbriger and myself.
If you missed the broadcast here’s the segment online.
I’m on in the last ten if you want to skip them others.

I didn’t realise that RA started 12 years ago. That’s pretty impressive. And to think I told my friends this whole web thing was probably just a fad that would pass.
I date back to the days when “anonymous” comments on RiotAct still came out as “Anonymous Cowardly Canberran” ! Must have been around 2004. Can I have that as my RiotAct ID please? : )

I”m surprised poetix remained silent about that troublesome apostrophe in “want’s”.
Great interview. I note that you said “There are some views that people send in and we look at and say we don’t…they can start their own website if they want to carry on with that.” Is this something that you relate to the person who is sending in thsoe views? Do you let them know that their views are unwanted?
Wow, they still only offer WMA and RealPlayer! Why not transcripts via baudot-encoded telex?
I felt like a proper old mate listening to you guys nattering on the wireless, but was worth the time.
Good summary and insight, especially in regards to your moderation techniques.
Funnily enough, the audio is not open to me, because it is on a media website restricting access for overseas listeners.
I can’t even get a transcript FFS.

I was interested to hear that you plan to expand into other cities. I thought it was forever and essentially Canberran.
Robyn Archer has seen to that!
Hmmm, Riotvic, Riottas, Riotq just wouldn’t have the same ring to them …
Very nice. I loved the pause after you were asked about Canberra being well served by The Canberra Times and the ABC. ‘Back in 2000 I didn’t feel that…’ (or similar). Implying that those feelings might possibly have changed, without saying so? Or that they haven’t, also without saying so? Mastery of ambiguity was displayed.
