Joy Burch is patronising the arts by announcing a whole $50,000 being split seven ways for arts residency programs:
- Funding will support:
— a Heritage of Lanyon artist residency, a joint initiative of ACT Museums and Galleries and the ACT Heritage Unit;
— artist residencies at Canberra Contemporary Art Space, in partnership with the ANU School of Art;
— an opportunity for an Australian Indigenous artist and a visiting international artist to undertake residencies at Gudgenby Cottage in the Namadgi National Park, hosted by CraftACT in partnership with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service;
— a Creative Fellowships Program at UNSW Canberra, in conjunction with the ACT Writers Centre, hosting three creative writers;
— the Young Music Society to bring international musicians to engage with Canberra musicians and students;
— Basketry ACT to bring an international textile artist to live and work in Canberra; and
— a residency hosted by the Multicultural Women’s Advocacy Group in partnership with the Community Cultural Inclusion Officers, bringing inspiring community arts projects.
