A 15-year-old girl will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning over an attempted aggravated robbery and assault in Kingston last night (Friday, June 24).
About 7.59pm on Friday, a woman was approached in Wentworth Avenue, Kingston by two females asking for money. The two females then tried to forcibly remove the woman’s handbag. The woman ran across Wentworth Avenue in front of oncoming traffic to the centre median strip. The two females followed the woman and punched her in the face before running off in the direction of the Causeway.
The woman called police who located, detained and arrested one of the females for attempted aggravated robbery and assault.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the attempted aggravated robbery and assault last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
