Over on YouTube f***c***23 has posted some terrible video of something looking rather fun, and a little bit dangerous.
The only info is the title “canberra longboarding”.
Anyone got any guesses which car park played host?

“Man rides down ramp on skateboard. And in other news today a cat was chased by a dog”.
What a phuckin waste of my precious time that was.

National Gallery underground carpark ?
Times 2.
Like Danman I also used to attempt to skate at the NG carpark also.
I also vote Bonner House. The ramp from the second level to the top level. I recognise the ‘No Pedestrian Access’ signs, and Sky Plaza is in the distance.
sorry, but i thought it was belco mall, only because we used to flatboard down the ramps from the top of franklins carpark to the ground level, pretty hairy, but worth the skinned knuckles…

Is it wrong of me to always think of Olivia when rollerskates are mentioned?
Nah – I did…[sigh]
Did you have massive headphones (connected to your Sony Walkman) playing Xanadu?’
Is it wrong of me to always think of Olivia when rollerskates are mentioned?
National Gallery underground carpark ?

Little bit dangerous?? Not even close.
Like JJ, we used to spend a lot of time back in the roller skating days screaming down empty car parks in the wee hours. 4 levels of ramps = serious speed at the bottom and a real challenge to pull up before the fence at the end…
Guess we gave the folks in blue someone to bother on quiet nights when there weren’t any actual crims to deal with.
Roller skating?
Damn, I thought I was old.

Nope. That’s not belco mall.
I used to go skating carparks with mates back in the day: awesome fun, and doing a runner from tubby security guards was always a bit of a thrill too. The best carpark was part of the convention centre, you could ride it from top to bottom in tight downward circles at an ever increasing speed until spat out at ludicrous speed onto a good flat stretch.
I would have thought it would be difficult to do on a longboard though, I didn’t figure those things were good for turning.
