Does anyone know if there are plans to install lights at the Belconnen Dog Park?
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to get there before dark.

What about a hurricane lantern? They throw a fair bit of light, are cheap to run and kind-of cool, too.
To answer your question: yes, someone knows.
To answer your question more directly: I doubt anyone here knows.
I don’t think my dog gives a flying **** how dark it is, she’ll eat cat shit anywhere.

I have 5 highly powered lanterns which couple to make a giant ball of light. If you’d like we can dog-pool with my lanterns. Meet me at the skate park at 20:00 ready with your canine companion. I will be dressed in a gorilla costume (the dogs like it) and we’ll start the walk, but unfortunately I won’t be able to talk to you because I can’t talk while I’m walking.
Cool,
i’d like to see these lights. I can’t make it til 22:00 though because i’m going to a fancy dress. I’ll be the one wearing a white sheet (i’m going to the party as a ghost). And i’m deaf so i wouldn’t be able to listen to you talk anyway Baron.

I use two LED blinkers and a big jingle bell for my (very) black labrador. Lights are good, but the bell is great if long grass/bush/etc. is preventing me from seeing the LED blinkers!
Seriously guys, do you really need stadium lighting to exercise your dog? How much wattage do you need? And how long are these lights supposed to be left on for?
Get a powerful headtorch for yourself and some LED blinkers for your dogs. Works fine for my pups.
Hmm can I have a Gvmt funded aquarium with heater for my tropical fish please and even better can someone from the Gvmt come out and change the water for me every week? Many thanks…
If there are no plans it is too late for this budget, but a bit of lobbying may get some funding next year – the other option is to get some sponsorship from solar lighting companies to install ones like TAMS have at their office in Lyneham?
We have the same problem at Lake Tuggeranong Dog Park. In fact one user of LT Dog Park wrote into TAMS & they told them that there weren’t any plans. At times I driven up to the fence & left my headlights on for 5-10 minutes.
I haven’t heard of any plans… Maybe you can write to the Minister suggesting they stimulate the economy by installing some solar powered lights.
You can get little flickering LED lights that hook onto dog collars at most pet stores. Good to keep track of pups frollicking at night in off-leash areas.
I use a torch in the absence of installed lighting when walking my dog in the evening.
