Does anyone know has it sold yet or is coming up for sale?
I am interested to know who purchased it?
ie Is it going to be a childcare centre?

I was advised by the Labor Minister 6 months ago that this dereclict rat hole would be sold “in the second half of 2011”
The only sign on the building was “Public Education Works” (it clearly doesn’t). It will probably be demolished and sold as vacant land suitable for medium density housing to maximise the stamp duty etc. returns to the ACT Government. It would have made a great senior citizens centre but ACT Labor doesn’t look at demographics; only revenue.
I wonder who nicked the “Public Education Works” sign?
The pre-school building does not appear to be structurally unsound?after unqualified inspection,it has however been trashed inside ,presumably by bored kids,i go in there regularly to check out whats going on,the big fence makes a good area to run my dog, thanks gov.I would however like to know who is stealing the roof sheeting however,i have your rego if your smart enough to be on riotact 🙂
They’ve been planning to sell that since June 2006 (when school closures were announced). The rumour is social housing (if it retains the community facilities zoning ) or whatever the developer wants (if rezoning is an option).
Knowing this government – who admittedly can fill in timesheets – rezoning is already planned, and the developer has already done the handshake deal.
As a Macarthur resident, today I received a letter from “Greg Friedwald,Senior Manager” from the “Economic Development” something or other ACT Government letter head department. He explains to me in reference to the “old” Pre-School” site “A subsequent inspection revealed that the building is structurally unsound and needs to be demolished”……”There is, however,no intention to alter the proposed use of the site which will continue to be for a child care centre and other community uses permissable under the Territory Plan”
Yeah right….im going there right now to take photos of a 20 year oldish building which is structurally unsound, please dont tell all the other residents in Macarthur who’s houses are that old, they may fall down, and yes i will be jumping your dumb security fence to get in…..:(
It is still community facilities land dung so couldn’t be used for housing unless they changed the land use. Seawardvillage – this property was on the land release program (which is what the minister would have relied on for the advice to dungfungus) check with the land development agency.

I suspect there might be an application for a lease variation for that site. 🤔 View
