ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the Conder McDonalds yesterday evening (Wednesday, May 30).
About 7.20pm a man, entered the store and walked to the front counter while armed with a large kitchen knife. The man made demands for cash.
The man was given a sum of cash and fled the store.
The man was described as around 5’11” – 6’3” (180cm-190cm) in height with a solid build. At the time he was wearing a black ‘hoodie’ and tracksuit pants, white sneakers and white gloves. His face was concealed by a black and white skeleton mask.
Detective Superintendent of Criminal Investigations, Brett McCann said that staff and witnesses did the right thing by not confronting the armed man.
“In situations like this, the best cause of action is to not step in and challenge the person.
“The best cause of action is to comply with the demands and try and remember as many details of the incident as you can.” Detective Superintendent McCann said.
Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
