Man caught speeding would like to set record straight

Damien Svarcas would like to set the record straight and let us know he was going 200 in a 100 zone, instead of the measly 170 they booked him for. Thank goodness he has a public profile to do so from.

The car is a BMW I think the cars speedo would be accurate. Police only estimated 170kph . 120mph wouldn’t raise a brow in Germany.

True enough … I’ve had many a rental cruising along at over 240km/h on the autobahn … hi gearing / low revs … but as the fuel consumption rises rapidly over 160km/h I’m content to puddle along with the normal traffic flow 100-200 km/h depending on location/weather/traffic. The German Autobahn generally has 3 lanes … the fast lane, the very fast lane and the sh$t what was that lane (sche$sse was war dass?); adventures with a 3 cylinder 1.0l Nissan Micra on the autobahn in the 1980s still haunt me – Porsche turbos get big in the rear view mirror very quickly! 😎

Have they really increasedª the amount of points people have? They have had 12, like the ACT for many years. How many do they have now?

Without reading the first sentence of the OP, it is impossible to know the make of vehicle…

I said without knowing vehicle, not without knowing make. Try to read.
Most beamers I think are limited to 250, but some, either electronically or just by capacity, can’t exceed or even reach 200. Gotta remember that’s a 12/13yr old car too.

Most would given the freeways in the countries they are built for.

Hell, my old clapped out KE30 Carolla used to do 160. I had easily seen 200 in a 1985 Ford Telstar a couple of times too (using older cars as perspective to top speeds achievable).

There is a nice long hill down into Little Burra which would help him along too.

On the Old Cooma road front, the NSW cops seem to love it, I have seen them out there heaps of times, a lot more than I see the ACT cops between Calwell and Williamsdale.

Maybe if his father hadn’t gone so fast, he could have pulled out in time and avoided us ever having to hear from this amoeba in the first place.

And a P Plater – of course. They’re the dudes who REALLY know how to drive!

Imagine the average P Plater at speed. At 130 km/h the various bits of GoFast Supercheap plastic bits start to vibrate and fall off. At 180 km/h the two small screws holding the high-speed spoiler onto the boot give way, and 2 kg of China’s finest plastic flutters off into the wind. The driver is oblivious, as his rear vision is obscured because his baseball cap is on backwards. At 200 km/h his ten dollar tyres (on two hundred dollar rims) finally reach their limit, and the disintegrating rubber flies into the 1 and a half pack paint job. The entire smoking wreck now comes to a slow, sad stop by the side of the highway, the ‘For Sale’ sign permanently stuck to the back window now looking like a forlorn wish.

For ‘Hammer Time’ to ‘time to call your mum’ in 10 km.

This bloke is obviously proud of his stupidity. It’s idiots like him that give idiots a bad name.

If I was running the show, he’d be up for a bit of time in the big house, followed by catching the bus for a few years, combined with lots and lots and lots of community service. I’d go foe something like providing assistance to handicapped victims of motor vehicle accidents.
