Manuka bagsnatcher

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery that occurred around the Manuka shops last night (Saturday, May 18).

Around 6.35pm a woman had withdrawn money from the Commonwealth Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on Bougainville Street when she was accosted by a man who snatched her purse and ran to a car parked nearby. Two men are suspected to be involved.

The vehicle in which they fled was a blue four-door sedan, (possibly a Hyundai), with NSW number plates (black on yellow).

The victim was unhurt during this incident.

The first offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 185cm (6’) tall, of athletic build, clean shaven with medium dark hair. He was wearing a jacket with a fluorescent orange torso, dark sleeves and navy coloured pants.

The second offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, 160cm (5’3”) tall, of medium build, pale round face with a thin brown beard. He was wearing a cream-coloured hooded jacket with a hatched pale grey/beige pattern.

Officer-in-Charge of Crime Prevention Harry Hains said that it’s very important to be vigilant when withdrawing money from an ATM and to be prepared to terminate the transaction and walk away. If you see any suspicious behaviour around an ATM, contact police immediately on 131 444.

Anyone who saw the two offenders or the blue four-door sedan around Bougainville Street at the time of the offence is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Last I heard she’d been arrested, so it might just be that we’ll have to wait ’til 2016 until the case is heard and another 4 years until the sentence is passed down.

Yep once again it’s the low life maggots that target the more vulnerable at ATM’s,who will eventually come undone.My guess is that with the women arrested earlier this year,providing she pleads guilty,that we’ll get an outcome before the end of the year.Of course that’s in stark contrast to this case by none other than Refshauge Esq:
