The returns of gifts has two fascinating entries today.
A Mark Blumer of London Circuit has found it in his heart to gift $10,000 dollars on both the Greens and the Liberals.

Of course the ACT doesn’t have many; especially on the right.
That’s sarcasm, yes? Otherwise I’m wondering who paid for all those stupid wasteful television ads and roadside signs.
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: we need a system that forces campaign advertising spending to be matched dollar for dollar with donations to non-secular charities.
Not that I support the general concept, but why only non-secular?

This is the price for having Smyth veto any reduction in TPI premiums by instituting a soliciter free system.
So the registered vehicle owners of the ACT have made this ‘donation’
Spelling notwithstanding, bingo.

This would be Mark Blumer of Blumer’s Lawyers, whose wife Noor is the head of the ACT Law Society, and whose firm has those god awful television commercials.
Between the nonsense TV ads and pouring that much money into a sinking ship, would you trust them to represent you?
Twenty thou does make you wonder what they expect in return from a Liberal government?

Hello Mr Blumer, can I please have $10,000?
Thanks
Sounds like you’d be surprised how the political donation system actually works.
It really is as simple as walking up to a sympathetic cashed-up business/individual and asking them to write a cheque. Business done!

So many generous people!
If I had $20k to give to political parties, though, I think I’d give it to Save the Children or Medicines Sans Frontiers.
Why give them $ now? Seems a bit late for the campaign. Perhaps for their election parties tomorrow? 🙂
