ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault at the Erindale shops on Saturday morning (December 3).
Around 5.30am, the 30-year-old male victim was sitting in his car outside the Lucky Price Asian grocery in Garside Street, Wanniassa, when he was approached by an unknown man. The man opened the door of the victim’s car and dragged him outside. The man began to punch the victim about the head and body before hitting him in the head with an object, believed to be a stick or baseball bat.
The victim eventually managed to get into his car and drove to The Canberra Hospital where he sought treatment for his injuries.
The offender is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm (6 foot) tall with a medium build. He has brown hair and was wearing a black baseball cap.
Anyone who was in Garside Street at the Erindale shops around 5.30am on Saturday (December 3) and may have witnessed the assault, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
