Keen for a fancy night out as the weather continues to warm? Why not choose an event that champions local generosity?
Meet the Makers is back this November, taking over one of Canberra’s most luxurious venues for an unforgettable evening as rich in care as it is in flavour.
The highly anticipated event will bring together the region’s top winemakers, foodies and community leaders at Midnight Bar in Braddon.
Dolled up in all their finery, guests will be treated to high-class food and wine pairings, curated by Midnight Hotel executive chef Amit Kashyap and expert producers from the likes of Clonakilla, Collector Wines, Mount Majura Vineyard and Lerida Estate.
The best bit? Funds raised will support the crucial work of Ronald McDonald House Charities ACT and South East NSW (RMHC).
You may have heard about RMHC before – the local force for good that keeps families connected during some of the most challenging times in their lives. For CEO Eoghan O’Byrne, Meet the Makers is far more than a celebration of good food and wine.
“Meet the Makers is an opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference for families who need it most,” he says.
“The impact of this event for Ronald McDonald House extends far beyond one evening.
“Every ticket sold, every glass poured, and every moment shared on the night directly helps us provide a home away from home for families with a seriously ill or injured child in Canberra.”
Guests will also hear directly from a family supported by the house, offering a heartfelt reminder of the real impact community generosity can make.

If you’ve never tasted caviar before, Meet the Makers is your chance to experience premium imported and Australian bumps, elevated by sumptuous pairings and organised by Yarra Valley Caviar.
There’ll be plenty of mingling and live music to enjoy, and exclusive prizes to be won, including a signed Canberra Raiders jersey.
You’ll even be able to purchase premium wines at special event pricing through RMHC’s mystery silly sock raffle, and relive the night’s memories later on with their take-home goodie bag.
Geocon, the event’s major sponsor, holds RMHC in particularly high regard. Geocon’s CEO Damon Smith describes the RMHC’s work as nothing short of extraordinary.
“Over the past five years, we’ve seen firsthand the impact of the house, the comfort, the care, and the sense of home RMHC provides,” he says.
“We all have a role to play in shaping the kind of community we want to live in. When local businesses support local charities, it’s not just about writing a cheque. It’s about being part of the team.
“For Geocon, that means using our reach, our venues, and our people to help make a real difference for families right here in the ACT.”
With premium tastings, live entertainment, and fundraising for a cause that truly hits home, Meet the Makers promises to be one of the capital’s most memorable nights of the year.
Meet the Makers 2025 takes over Midnight Bar from 5.30 pm on Friday, 21 November. Midnight Bar is located on the ground floor of Midnight Hotel, at 1 Elouera Street, Braddon.
Tickets are $139 per person and are available through Ronald McDonald House Canberra.
