I was tailgated by a truck a week ago on this section of road whilst driving my young son home from swimming – between Lanyon Drive and the Hume industrial estate. The truck eventually pulled up beside me at the Hume traffic lights and gave me look that suggested that I was wrong for stopping at the lights and that I, in doing the speed limit was some kind of nut. His truck happened to have the logo of his company on. So I emailed their head office to express my disappointment. Low and behold I got a call from the driver to apologise just yesterday. He should count himself lucky he was just losing a bit of face making a call, and not facing legal action over an accident of his making.

I’m sick of the traffic on the Monaro Highway, and the police would do well to have a presence on it – not just the odd speed van.

I had a similar experience years ago (before emails) and when I phoned to employer to complain I was told this was the 20th complaint they had received about the same driver in 6 months.
They requested that I supply details in writing so they could “counsel” him but as soon as they got my letter they gave him a copy of it and sacked him.
Next thing he was on my doorstep threatening and abusing me. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I live in Australia because if it was the USA he would have shot his employer and then come after me.
The moral of the story is to advise the employer (where known) of the driver’s antics but don’t give your name or phone number.

Don’t forget to mention the young high speed slalom ute drivers constantly driving around Queanbeyan and Jerra who belong to a certain electrianl business in Fyshwick. One day those brakes are gunna fail you.

It never fails to surprise me that people are dumb enough to do stupid things when their company logo is on their vehicle. And that means you, Mr painter/decorator from Jerra who seems to have no indicators on your very late model vehicle and an inflated sense of entitlement to the road. And tow truck dude who can drive a tow truck in peak hour traffic, drink a cup of coffee and use his phone all at the same time. And so on, and so on.

I have had an O’Brien van waiting for me to finish filling up petrol in Curtin and a person has told me the two in the vehicle were getting agro waiting for me to finish filling my small car petrol tank. Not surprised by this item at all.

If the driver of the Toyota HiAce Van in the Windscreens O’Brien livery is the same one seen hooning around upper Tuggeranong regularly my guess is he got what was coming to him.

Are we sure it wasn’t a commodore disguised as a triton?
