Hi everyone, I’m looking for a mechanic to diagnose a Chinese quad bike starting problem. I have had a couple of knock backs from a couple of repairers, “sorry we don’t work on those bikes” I’m stuck! I just want to find someone who is able to help. Grateful for any recommendations.
Park it outside the Chinese Embassy with a sign like “this is a dud and no one will fix it” attached to it.
Does anyone else remember the farmer who bought a giant fault-plagued Belarus tractor which no one would fix so he parked it on the median strip in Canberra avenue outside the Russian Embassy? That was about 30 years ago.
Hey all, tried calling total motorcycle solutions but the phone numbers don’t work. I ended up taking my motorbike to dahlitz at queanbeyan. Charged me $300 for an oil change, brake fluid change and general checkup. Is that normal ? Labour was $200. I own a Honda cbr 500r.

Axle in Woden is good with the exotics and has a dyno.
I have been thinking of finding a place in wooden, so I can dropnthe bike and walk to work.

+1 and his prices are very reasonable. Changed the pipes and serviced my v-twin Honda a few years back and it cost me less than the quoted price of CMC and Action for just the service.
Bruce is ok with mechanical but if it’s electrical he’s a bit rough in my experience (and I’ve been to him a half a dozen times)
Dahlitz in queanbeyan are good for jap bikes.

There are three Canberra dealers (japanese, italian and chinese motorcycles) who are absolute hacks and wouldn’t have a clue but I don’t want to get sued. They will charge you heaps then ruin your motorcycle.
‘Nother big up for Bruce’s. They do me and the road rocket proud…
After reading this thread I went to see Mat at Total Motorcycle Solutions. I used to go to Bruce’s who is very good however I now live in Jerra. All I can say is that Mat gave great customer service and had my bike fixed within a couple of hours. He said it was a minor problem and for what seems a rarity in the world of mechanics the price reflected that. He also checked over the bike an topped up the oil. Highly recommended.
Cheers

Matt at Total Motorcycle Solutions in Queanbeyan will look after you. Alternatively, my brother-in-law swears by Bruce’s Motorcycle Repairs in Mitchell.
