I saw a news item on TV a few years ago about some career hoodlum who’d arrived in Australia as a bub. Unfortunately for him, what with being so busy burgling etc, he’d neglected to take out citizenship, so when the beak eventually realised what has happening the dude was shipped back to Bumphuqistan quicker than you can say “But YerHonor I Don’t Speak the Language!”.

So there he was on the tube, sitting disconsolately on a street somewhere looking sorry for himself and not getting much sympathy from the local yokels. After considering at length whether I should feel sympathy for him, I decided that would be a waste of a very scarce resource and laughed like a drain instead.

My comment was not at all in attack to ward the police, i have no problem with the way they decided to do their job, and i am in fact very thankful they do their job as well as they do here in Canberra. I will prop the police in this town forever and a day.

My offense was taken from the deport comment.. yeh i do sometimes have a bit of a bleeding heart, it doesn’t mean i do not live in the real world, and it doesn’t mean i would allow everyone to just be an asshole. It means that sometimes people from these backgrounds do act like animals.. and part of me stops and thinks ” well if i was in that position, i might not turn out the nicest person)
A violent crime was once committed against me, so i in no way defend any criminals, and i am with you PostalGeek when you say you would get rid of all of them not just the ” new aussies” (apologies for thinking it was angled toward the foreign)

i just take every criminal for the case they have, and war trauma is a way more real excuse, than – i grew up in a govy house in charnwood, and i didn’t get a play station… don’t you??

I’d happily swap a Real Australian recidivist pile of dung for an earnest refugee anyday. Why should a decent man who would give all to work and raise his family peacefully in Australia rot in an crappy offshore detention centre when native-born violent welfare dregs kissed by the lottery of life live it up at everyone else’s expense.

Living in this country is a privilege, a privilege that should be revoked and passed on to someone better if you prove to be a menace to others.

But unfortunately that’s not the way the world works…

Anybody with half an ounce of sense knows that you don’t get stabby with The Man, no matter where you come from. So if they’re local rubbish then they’re our problem. If they’re imported rubbish then I’d be happy to return them to their place of origin.

Assuming they are recent arrivals (and there’s no proof of that of course), what law of nature says we have to put up with this sort of crap? I’m happy to have people of any race/religion/whatever come here, as long as they behave decently and work to benefit our society.

it constantly amazes me that we, as a society, are expected to “forgive” certain people for their actions due to their possible difficult upbringing.

I don’t give a piece of shite where they came from. They are here now.

So they can just say thank-you to Australia for accepting hem as a refugee and then start contributing to the community.

A hotel, a pub, a library, a school, a bus, a shopping centre, can all eject people who refuse to follow the rules.

A nation should be able to do the exact same thing.

If you attempt to attack a police for no reason other than showing up to a reported disturbance, then yes you deserve to be deported. Just because bad things have happened to you does not mean you get to act like a POS.
