The slide animation needs to go in reverse when the ‘Back’ button is pressed, otherwise it feels like you are stepping forward when you’re actually returning to a previous page.
Thanks very much for all your feedback. We have added new features to the LITE version. Notable are
1. Favourites
Add your routes / stops to fav. Once added you are just a touch away from finding out the ‘Next Service’.
2. Find Nearest Stop.
Shows top 5 nearest stops from your location with distance.
3. Route filter.
Filters the routes as you type. Saves you from scrolling thro’ the list.
Visit http://canberra.itranzit.com/lite.html
We have noticed that the user exp is superior in Firefox, Chrome, Safari compared to Internet Explorer. So if you are using IE, pl. try with other browsers to see the difference.

1) Yes, its a Web App(lication)
I’m starting to regret having brought up the point. Fine, let’s just go with “app”.
I came to this conclusion after I used the Google App to search for a defintion of web application and found that the Wikipedia App had an article on it, after which I used the riotact App to post my thoughts on it 🙂
If you want to get technical, yes it is an application. The title of this post is just misleading, as the abbreviation “app” is almost exlusivley used to refer to applications run upon a client device, rather than a server with browser accessing the output. This is not helped by “works on all devices” which, while sort of accurate, also implies that it is working “on” devices, not viewed through a browser.
Anyway, not really important, nice application, though I feel like you should streamline navigation a little (there are even more clicks to get to bus information than the actual action website, unless you at a popular terminus). This direction might be helped when you get some usage stats during the beta.
How are figuring out which routes are popular?

Sooo if it’s not ACTION endrosed, who’s paying for it? I’m looking for the money making component of this [web] app[lication] and it’s not jumping out at me.
MyndWorks seems to specialise in building web-sites optimized for mobile devices and have a product to interface between existing databases and the web-site. So I’m guessing it promotion-ware ie: like this, think it’s useful? Call us and we can build something for your company/department. I have to admit it’s a pretty good idea; it probably didn’t take long to whip up and if you can get people to use it then your name is under a lot of eye-balls.

As with MyBus it will be much more useful once the real-time bus information is prised out of ACTION and we can have something like this.
That’s pretty cool!

If I wanted to know the next available buses, the app’s “Next Service, Route Finder, 27” feature will tell me about the 4:21pm bus, the 5:21pm bus, but not the 4:53pm bus.
I see your point. iTranzit relies on Action’s data.
One way to get what you want is to find the stop (Woden Int. platform 3 in your case) and the “Next Service” from this stop should give you all departures including 26, 27, 226, 227. You can navigate to respective route from there.
Hope this helps..

Can you add a tag to the home page for apple icons?
Sure.. Will do. Thanks.
If I want to take a bus from Woden to say Rivett, I can usually take bus 27 (or 26). I can also take bus 227—essentially the same route from Woden onwards (227 comes from Campbell Park instead of originating at Woden Interchange).
If I wanted to know the next available buses, the app’s “Next Service, Route Finder, 27” feature will tell me about the 4:21pm bus, the 5:21pm bus, but not the 4:53pm bus.
Just an example.
When I’m out, I usually carry a piece of paper with these times copied from the ACTION brochures.

So what is it – a web site (i.e. needs no more than a browser to operate) or an application (needs software installed on the device)? It can’t be both.
Whether its on a web site or in the phone it’s still an app. Just a question of where it’s being run.
Can you add a tag to the home page for apple icons?
At the moment the icon on my home spring is a screen cap of the home page – not so pretty.

Thanks for the feedback. The lite version provides back button and bookmarking support.

Is this actually an Action endorsed “app”? I can’t find anything about it on their website and this doesn’t appear very governmenty. Appears to work and has some nice features when used on the intelligent phone. An actual app would have been nicer for access.
1. iTranzit is neither official nor endorsed by Action. Pl. see the disclaimer section.
2. Our aim is to make it available to as much audience as possible. Web App is a perfect way to do that. We are planning to release device specific apps for iOS, Android etc down the line.

2) iTranzit is designed to handle real-time data including real-time maps. We will enable it when real-time data is made available.
Couldn’t see a feedback machanism ond the Myndworks website, so here’s some on a public forum:
* Doesn’t support browser->back (Goes back to launcher page).
* iApp look and feel seems wrong on Android.
* The “Route finder” is pretty unusable (either a list of “popular” routes or all routes you have to page-through – might be better with geolocation or name-based search).
* Information->fares is “coming soon” – would be better to just not have the link until the functionality’s there.
I dunno, I still think going to google maps, typing in where you are, typing in your destination, and clicking the ‘bus’ icon is by far the easiest way to find bus information.

The Next Service feature is quite nice. Thanks. Haven’t actually tested it on the go.
