Police will allege that weapons such as knives, a hammer and metal poles were used during the robberies, which occurred predominantly at Southside skate parks between December 6 and 9, 2010.
Three victims were hospitalised during the attacks, offenders allegedly stealing cash and phones. Two of the offences occurred at the Weston Creek skate park, one at Woden skate park and the other at an Erindale footbridge.
The five males in ACT courts tomorrow range from 17 to 19 years of age and face a total of 17 charges for aggravated robbery (in company).
In the ACT Magistrates Court, an 18-year-old Wanniassa man will answer four charges of aggravated robbery (in company) and two charges for attempted aggravated robbery (in company). A 19-year-old Bonython man will face three charges of aggravated robbery (in company).
Three 17-year-old Southside males will attend the ACT’s Childrens Court to face a total of 10 charges for aggravated robbery (in company).
