You are right, Lennox Crossing was slightly further west of the present day Commonwealth Avenue Bridge. Being a low level crossing it was very prone to flooding so the Commonwealth Avenue bridge was built as a high level bridge to alleviate this. Sorry, I was just being a bit lazy with the labeling. Personal uppercut!

That’s not Lennox Crossing, that’s the second Commonwealth Ave Bridge, built mid 1920s.
I never knew that as Lennox Crossing. I always thought it was Commonwealth Bridge. In my mind Lennox Crossing was a low level bridge that came near the old Canberra Hospital (National Museum) from the back of Albert Hall.
