ACT Policing has apprehended a 16-year-old Southside male who was the passenger in a stolen car which collided with a police vehicle early this morning (Tuesday, April 19).
About 1.50am Woden police observed a stolen dark blue Ford in Weston. When police activated their lights the vehicle failed to stop and accelerated away.
Police pursued the vehicle for a short time until the offenders lost control of the vehicle on a bend, spinning and hitting the gutter. Police came to a stop in front of the vehicle, attempting to block its path.
The offenders accelerated the Ford, hitting the back of the police car and drove away.
Police followed the car until it mounted a gutter in Waramanga and came to a stop. The two offenders ran from the vehicle and police pursued them on foot along a bike path.
