Cat of the Week: Porcupine
Here’s a fluffy, handsome and incredibly affectionate boy who we’d dearly love to see adopted. Meet Porcupine, named as such because we think his fur resembles the quills of a porcupine.
When we say Porcupine is affectionate, we really mean it. He will follow you around from room to room and wherever you settle down, he’ll curl up beside you. This level of affection will cost you a mere chin scratch or head rub.
Porcupine is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive), which simply means he should live indoors and either be the only cat in the home or share his space with other FIV+ kitties.
For the exquisite company of an affectionate and very handsome Domestic Longhair, come and meet Porcupine. We love him, but we’d rather he live with you.

Meet Bruce. Adopt Bruce. Be happy you did. Photo: RSPCA ACT.
Dog of the Week: Bruce
Just have a look at the gorgeous smile and our boy Bruce. He has that heartwarming, classic Staffy smile from ear to ear, and he’ll always be glad to see you.
Bruce is raw in terms of being settled into a calm home, but he’s already shown us how clever he is. He’ll learn fast, and he’s naturally curious.
One of the most fun features of Bruce is hearing him talk. Stand a few kennels down from his and start talking, he’ll soon arc up and start a conversation. We’re not talking about barking here; we mean talking. It’s adorable and hilarious.
Bruce needs a settled home to show him what a joyful home can look like. If you adopt him, he’ll learn the house rules very quickly and blossom into a wonderful companion.
Pawnotes: You’ll always hear us talking about our animals in this article, but why not see for yourself next Saturday, 25 October? We’re hosting a Shelter Open Day. Ask questions, take a free tour, see you there!
