Anyone have any idea what the police were doing in the scrub at the back of Orana, near the parkway today?
Looked like they were looking for something pretty important – 3 cars there.

Spot on!

No donuts to be seen I’m afraid.
It was probably just an outing for passive-agressive desk-jockey cry-babies to see what the real world looks like. After the field school they got the chance to go on line and lie about about their boxing prowessbefore attending a workshop on civil litigation where they learned that the truth was no defence against defamation in NSW 😉
No bites ing. Time to go get help.
Doesn’t stop them searching for it.

Trying to find Stanhope’s credibility?
“stanhope’s credibility” equates with “military intelligence” : huge oxymoron.

Trying to get a bite from VG? Haven’t seen him on this site for a while.
Maybe his superintendant had a word about too much typing and not enough copping.
And then you had to go an ruin it with your American spelling.
The American spelling of doughnut is ‘doughnut’. Even Krispy Kreme, that most American of doughnut chains, spells it ‘doughnut’. The OED lists ‘donut’ as an alternative spelling, not an American spelling.

Maybe the police are in charge of that bit of road, and were getting all the rubbish? There’ll be a sign up about it, if that’s the case.
No, it was probably doughnuts.
What?! there’s a real world?! Why didn’t anyone tell me earlier.
and I’m disappointed, I reported my box of donuts missing a week ago and they still haven’t recovered it.
Ingeegoodbee I am so very disappointed in you. I was reading along the thread and being very impressed that everyone was using the correct Australian spelling of doughnuts.
And then you had to go an ruin it with your American spelling.
Shame on you.

It’s just as well they don’t know about the chicken schnitzels of Queanbeyan, or there’d be none left (and absolutely NO police in Canberra, just like about a year ago).
I can report that Police were successful in recovering the missing (and mighty tasty) merchandise, though not before additional units were tasked to the scene with piping hot coffee.
