Police release second face-fit connected to armed robberies

The face-fit image of a man seen in the vicinity of Liardet Street in Weston on 11 January and Ellerston Avenue, Isabella Plains on 28 January.

ACT Policing has released a second face-fit image relating to an aggravated robbery and an aggravated burglary in Weston and Isabella Plains earlier this year.

The face-fit is of a second suspect involved in the robbery on 11 January 2018 of the Crust pizza store on Liardet Street in Weston in which a sum of money was stolen, and the armed robbery of the IGA Supermarket in Isabella Plains where staff handed over cash.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations are investigating and believe the robberies, in which the men carried knives, are linked.

This face-fit is of a man seen in the vicinity of Liardet Street in Weston on 11 January, and Ellerston Avenue, Isabella Plains on 28 January.

A previous face-fit of another man believed to be involved was released on Friday, 30 March 2018.

On 11 January 2018, police believe the men were driving a blue sedan along Parkinson Street towards Namatjira Drive, Weston.

The face-fit issued on March 30 of a man believed to have been involved in the two robberies.

The first man is described as being about 180cm (6 feet) tall and having a slim build. During the Weston aggravated robbery, he was wearing a mask, gloves, a grey hooded jumper, black pants and white shoes. He was carrying a knife in his right hand.

The second man is described as being about 180cm (6 feet) tall and having a slim build. During the Weston aggravated robbery, he was wearing a mask, gloves, a black baseball cap, a black jumper and dark pants. He was also carrying a knife.

Police are urging anyone who may know the identities of the men depicted in the face-fits or any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
