So who has seen what?
Letter boxes welded shut?
Men in black suits walkiong around with wires out of their ears?
Secret Service snipers on buidlings

That google search shows it is Presidents, plural. So who are the other ones?
I still think it sounds like a disease, or something that parents of nappy wearing babies would have to deal with.
And now that it has been delayed, does that make it
POTUS interuptus ?
Time was we just called HIM (it’s never a her) “the president”. At least we have come that far. What debacles from the AFP await us? I can’t wait.
actually, the best place to watch AF1 landing would be the baby change room at brand depot. Top spot for plane watching… and the best baby change room in canberra. pity its at brand depot. worst. shopping. centre. ever.
Oddly enough, there IS a grassy knoll alongside the main road out of Canberra Airport.
Of course, disembarkation would likely be on the Fairbairn side, where the VIP hangar is, so the motorcade would never pass it.
Of course they are watching.
But had to larf when I read this week that when Bush was in town last time they had snipers on a hill 20km out from the airport hushing the land owners to secrecy. Would that have been near Mt Rob Roy?

Well, it gives us all more time to find a nice grassy knoll to watch from.
Parliament Hill is nothing but one whopping big grassy knoll!
i’ve got my perfect spot… damn him and his delays!
the airplane nerd in me is cranky that I have to wait!

….or build that book repository….
Actually, the National Library would probably be a good place to get a shot… er… view of the motorcade.

What or who is POTUS? 😛 😛
Sounds embarrassing. “Yeah, I’ve got POTUS” and so on and so forth.

or build that book repository – who needs a new hospital anyway?
Re FA-18s, no wonder the plane we saw waaaaaay up high yesterday evening was still so loud!!
Lateral thinking must be an art, no?
Presidente Ofa The United States
This thread has just become redundant though, bad luck on the timing.
There havve been some FA-18s doing orbits in Canberra Airspace lately, yesterday there was one lurking around at 6.30pm for a while. Beats me why a modern military aircraft has to practise or become familiar with the notion of doing meaningless circles high above Canberra in preparation for the POTUS.
postponed, is what it is now. p-resident o-f t-he u-nited s-tates… he’ll be here in june, mebbe…
President of the United States. And, accoding to the ABC (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/03/19/2850101.htm) the trip’s been delayed til June so not much to worry about for now I guess.
