ACT Policing is reminding construction businesses to secure their work sites after building materials were stolen from an ANU site.
A large quantity of aluminium window frame material, measuring 7.8 metres long, was stolen from the ‘China in the World’ building construction site on Fellows Road, Acton. The aluminium box section framework was coated in a dark grey powder coating.
It is believed there may be attempts to on-sell the material to a company in the metal industry, or sold for scrap. ANU security footage will be reviewed by police during the course of the investigation.
Due to the length of the framework, police believe a truck or large vehicle with carrying racks would have been used to remove the aluminium.
