A 17-year-old male was arrested yesterday morning (Sunday, March 20) for assaulting a police officer and drink driving.
About 2.45am police conducted a traffic stop on a gold Mitsubishi Magna in Bruce. The young man was breath tested and returned a positive reading. He was taken to Belconnen Police Station for a breath analysis where he recorded a reading of 0.105. He is subject to a 0.00 limit.
While at the station the young male has become extremely aggressive and punched one of the police officers. He was arrested and taken to the ACT Regional Watch House where he was later released with bail conditions.
The young man has been charged with driving while disqualified, drink driving and assaulting a commonwealth official. He will be summonsed to attend the ACT Children’s Court at a later date.
