Everyone has looked at a house listing that says “recently renovated” and been disappointed when it becomes obvious that all that has been added is a new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. To call the project at 5 Clermont Street in Fisher an update is a serious understatement.
The renovation of this four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Fisher has completely flipped, redesigned and reconfigured the entire home.
It’s a complete reimagining.
“What we’ve done is hired a bespoke builder and designer, Temperly Homes, and given them free rein to create the home as they saw fit,” addy. real estate agent Ryan Hedley says.
“We’ve given them a blank canvas to do what they like and make a great home. It’s amazing what a builder can do when they’re not micromanaged.”
Temperly has completely transformed the 1971-built home. The biggest change has been to the floorplan, where the builder has completely reorganised the home’s flow, creating a more natural living space.
“You should have seen it before – it was a rabbit warren, but the designer has completely reorganised it for liveability. And they’ve done it all without removing any structural walls. It’s a testament to the builder’s skill,” Ryan says.
“It’s like The Block on steroids.”
An outdated main bedroom ensuite has been reworked into a powder room and the wardrobe has been changed to a stylish, spacious ensuite.
In the kitchen, a large stone island and a walk-in pantry have been added.

No part of the home was untouched by the renovation. The mammoth project also completely revamped the way the home looks and feels, with drastic changes made to the lighting, colour palette and styling.
“The builder has really run wild, but so has the electrician and the stylist. We told them to do whatever they liked to make a beautiful home and they delivered,” Ryan says.
Feature lighting takes centre stage throughout the home, and the electrician worked with the builder and stylist to create a cohesive home with a distinctive aesthetic feel.
“Every light bulb is a feature,” Ryan says.
In addition to the aesthetic touches, the home has also been completely re-clad and insulated. In addition, an existing solar and battery setup helps the home operate more efficiently day to day.
“The home is the culmination of the work of three experts in the field – a builder, a stylist and an electrician,” Ryan says.
“They’ve gone for a mid-century modern feel. Colour is obviously a big part of that and there are reds, greens and terracotta tones throughout the home to achieve that end.”

While many home renovations are piecemeal, 5 Clermont Street benefits from a singular design vision, with the same crew carrying out the work throughout, resulting in a consistently designed home.
“Where most renovations just add a few surface touches and call it a day, this renovation has completely flipped the home on its head,” Ryan says.
“What we want buyers to know is that they’re not purchasing a problem with this home, they’re purchasing a beautiful, functional, future-proof home.”
More than a home, this property exemplifies what a singularly minded, skilled team of designers can accomplish when they’re allowed to use their talents to the fullest extent.
