Renewable Energy Day is tomorrow and there’s quite a lot to do around town including tours of the Woodlawn bio-reactor and the local wind farm.
Worth a look.

What’s even sadder is that they didn’t harness the power of Uranium 20 years ago for producing electricity, if they did we’d have cheaper power that is cleaner to produce than even the biggest solar station. Solar panels don’t grow on trees.
Ah well.

Happy Renewable Energy Day, although it is a little sad that this ‘free’ energy has been coming to our planet the odd 150,000,000km everyday for the odd 4.54billion years (or 6000 years if you swear by the bible) and yet we are still in ‘planning’ stages for central solar energy harnessing in the ACT. Even sadder when you consider that northern hemisphere countries such as Spain, Germany, Japan & USA lead the world in solar power (and managed to do it without carbon tax) yet the southern hemisphere receives 6.9% more sunlight.
