There appears to have been a robbery or some other incident at the Caltex in Braddon with police and the forensics team on site.
All entrances are blocked off.
Does anyone know any more ?

If you watched the news lastnight it was due to a hold up.
To cut it short a man and a female tried to rob the station and couldn’t get through the glass smashed the glass and took off and i believe still have not been found.
Would think it would be up on crimestoppers by now. I didn’t see the whole thing on tv as I was in another room
The only robbery that took place at Caltex in Braddon is their fuel price!!
or as bad as Shell in Deakin.

about an hour later there were 2 cars and the forensics car and a few officers standing round turning people away.
I’m not sure what happened but I drove past at around 9.45 on my way to work and there was only one police car there and not a great deal of commotion so it will be interesting to find out what was going on.
stereo henry, isn’t that the whole point of the swap system?
From the SwapNGo FAQ:
Once you have a SWAP’n’GO gas bottle you don’t have to worry about checking test dates when you swap, as it will always be in date.
I used to love exchanging out-of-date gas bottles for new ones… used to be able to do it back in the days when the “swap and go” system was first introduced… none of the attendants ever used to check the dates… i think they’re on to it now 🙂

I called them up earlier this morning(10am’ish) to enquire whether I could fill up my own gas bottle or if I had to switch it with one of theirs. It was answered after two rings but there was absolutely no noise (not even ambient) so it must have kicked to some answering machine.
If you’re wondering, the Lyneham Caltex allows you to fill your own gas bottle still, but the majority of other places I called force you to swap them.
That’s not a bad result, as it gives them a chance to give you a bottle that’s been tested, rather than quickly fill up what COULD be a dodgy bottle and which COULD end in a world of pain and hurt. I know they’re supposed to check dates and stuff, but if they’re busy they may not be as careful.
Always had good service at that servo and the mechanic who used to be there was brilliant. (Talking a long time ago, and maybe mentioned it in more detail on another thread.)
